Upon arrival at the airport, you'll begin your journey to Habarana. The day's activities include a visit to the Dambulla Cave Temple, where you can explore the ancient caves and marvel at the intricate frescoes and statues. Following this, you'll enjoy a village tour, which includes a bull cart ride, a catamaran tour, an authentic lunch, and a return to the starting point by tractor or tuk-tuk. The day concludes with an exhilarating elephant safari at Kaudulla, Minneriya, or Hurulu Park, where you'll have the opportunity to see these majestic creatures in their natural habitat. You'll end the day at Cinnamon Lodge Habarana, where you'll stay on a half-board basis.
Start your day early with a journey from Habarana to Sigiriya at 7:00 AM. Your exploration includes climbing the iconic Sigiriya Rock Fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage site, followed by a visit to Pidurangala Rock, offering stunning views of the surrounding landscape. In the afternoon, unwind with an Ayurvedic herbal treatment and spa session. The evening will be highlighted by a special cultural dance show. You'll return to Cinnamon Lodge Habarana for another night, with dinner included.
After breakfast, you'll depart Habarana at 9:00 AM and make your way to Kandy. En route, you'll visit a spice and herbal garden, the historic Matale Alu Viharaya, and the colorful Sri Muthumari Amman Hindu Temple. You'll also tour a silk and batik factory (BABA Batiks) before continuing to Kandy. In Kandy, enjoy a city tour featuring the Gem Museum (ISNI), a wood carving factory and gallery (Oakray), and the scenic Bahirawakanda viewpoint. Your day ends with check-in at Cinnamon Citadel on a half-board basis.
Depart from Kandy at 8:00 AM and head towards Nuwara Eliya. The morning begins with a visit to the Temple of the Tooth during the morning prayer time, followed by stops at Ramboda Falls viewpoint and Geradi Ella viewpoint. You'll also visit the Hanuman Special Hindu Shrine/Temple, the famous pink post office, and the Gregory Lake area. In the afternoon, explore a tea factory (Damro, Old Mackwoods) to learn about the tea production process. The day concludes with a stay at Villa Tea Fields or Tea Garden Hotel, with dinner included.
Experience one of the most scenic train journeys in the world from Nanu Oya to Ella. Depart Nuwara Eliya at 9:00 AM, leaving your luggage in the vehicle. The train ride offers breathtaking views of the lush tea plantations and mountainous landscapes. In Ella, you'll visit Little Adam’s Peak and the Nine Arches Bridge. The evening is free for you to enjoy Ella's vibrant night scene with live music at local restaurants. Your accommodation for the night is Oak Ray Ella Gap on a half-board basis.
After breakfast, you'll leave Ella at 9:00 AM and travel to Yala. On the way, stop at the Rawana Waterfalls viewpoint. The highlight of the day is an evening safari in Yala National Park, renowned for its leopard, sloth bear, and elephant populations. You'll spend the night at Cinnamon Wild on a half-board basis.
Begin your journey to Bentota at 8:00 AM. The day's itinerary includes a visit to the historic Galle Fort, a Madu Ganga River Safari with lunch, and a visit to the turtle hatchery and sea life center in Ahungalla. You'll arrive in Bentota in the late afternoon and check in at Centara Ceysands on a half-board basis, known for its delicious seafood, including crabs, prawns, and lobster.
Enjoy a leisurely day in Bentota. Spend your morning indulging in water sports and the afternoon relaxing on the beach. The day is designed for you to unwind and soak in the beauty of Bentota's coastline. You'll stay another night at Centara Ceysands on a half-board basis.
Depart Bentota at 9:00 AM and head to Colombo for a city tour. The tour includes visits to the Gangarama Temple, Galle Face Green, Independence Square, and the Lotus Tower. You'll check in at the Grandbell Colombo on a half-board basis in the evening.
Spend your final day in Sri Lanka resting at your hotel in Colombo. Check out and then transfer directly to the airport for your departure.
We recommend packing comfortable clothing suitable for warm weather, as well as light jackets or sweaters for cooler evenings in Nuwara Eliya and Ella. Don't forget essentials such as sunscreen, sunglasses, insect repellent, and sturdy walking shoes for exploring archaeological sites and nature reserves.
